THE POOL
When the pool was built in the 1930s, it was Sweden’s very first outdoor pool with Olympic dimensions. Torsten Kreuger was so fond of the pool that, amusingly, he had a slide built from one of the castle’s windows, allowing him to plunge straight into the water for a morning swim. Unfortunately, Marguerite Wenner-Gren found it quite childish, so when she and Axel moved in, it was torn down.
Today, the pool is a delightful retreat for the castle’s overnight hotel guests looking to cool off after a hot summer day. Why not start the day with a refreshing morning swim?
The pool has a depth of 1 meter at its shallowest and 1.75 meters at its deepest. It is heated by the sun and is essentially sea-temperature.
*The pool is only open for swimming during the summer and is emptied in autumn and winter. It is exclusively available to overnight hotel guests.
