Martin Bogren

The Swedish photographer Martin Bogren is represented at the Palace with a beautiful black & white photograph of a young couple kissing in a dark alley.

Martin Bogren's work stems from a subjective personal approach and has been exhibited in major galleries, museums and festivals in Scandinavia, USA, UK, France, Poland, Italy and India.


He started his photography in a bloomimg Swedish indie- music scen in the early 90s – photographing bands for record companys and for magazines. He later toured with The Cardigans and in ’96 his first photobook of the band was released  (The Cardigans - Been it).



In 2008 his second book Ocean was published depicting a group of men from inner India who have never seen the ocean before, and now traveled through the country to reach the sea. The book was internationaly exhibited and won the honorable prize for best photobook in Sweden 2009. It was also shortlisted at the photobook contest in Arles the same year.



In 2011 the book Lowlands was published by Max Ström and exhibited at Fotografiska in Stockholm. Lowlands, depicts a rural Swedish filled with strange and beautiful characters. It was exhibited in Scandinavia, France, Portugal and Ireland.



In Tractor Boys Martin follows a group of young boys and their EPA-tractors. Martins grainy black & white photographies are always very captivating, no matter the motive.
