Cocktail Parties

Former palace owners Axel & Marguerite Wenner-Gren ditched the idea of having cocktails only on special occasions. They had them daily, signalled by a cocktail bell.

At their private island in the Bahamas, the Wenner-Grens used another type of bell to signal cocktail hour: when the large Buddhist temple bell rang, guests knew it was time for cocktails. Whether in the Bahamas, here at Häringe, or at the apartment on Laboratoriegatan in Stockholm, the drink was always an original Wenner-Gren concoction: Southern Cross, named after the couple's fantastic luxury yacht.

Of course, the delectable drink is still served at the palace – whenever and wherever you wish. But please note: if you drink too many, you may wake to a less desirable ringing.
